Description

This beautiful collection of memories, stories and photographs has been compiled in honour and commemoration of Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche, who died in Chengdu on the 8th of October 2013.

The messages and remembrances that poured in following his shocking and untimely death have been compiled into this book of heartfelt stories, anecdotes, poems and tributes, like so many individual beads on a mala, connected by the common thread of love and respect for Rinpoche. Some may bring a tear to the eyes, while others may evoke smiles of recognition at the myriad ways in which Akong Rinpcoche's enlightened wisdom, tender care and earthy humour benefitted beings.

Rinpoche meant so much to so many and although this book represents but a fraction of those whose lives he has touched, it reveals him as a most rare and precious multi-faceted, wish fulfilling gem whose light shines impartially on all those in need.

His indelible presence remains with us, unaffected by mere life and death, in the dharma he spread, the landscapes he shaped, the buildings he established, the projects he created to help beings around the world and, most of all, in the hearts and minds of all who had the good fortune to meet him. May it serve as a reminder for them and as a connection for others yet to meet Rinpoche in future lifetimes.
